For the second time in as many weeks, President Obama pulled together dozens of lawmakers, community leaders and business representatives to solve a pressing issue -- this time, health care reform.

But the president's focus-group brand of governing is starting to wear thin for some who say the sessions are more style than substance.

Obama held a similar summit last week to promote fiscal responsibility. Over the course of three hours, the 130 or so in attendance broke into five groups and then reconvened, and the president said all their suggestions would be boiled down into a final report in 30 days. Soon after, the White House went ahead and released a $3.6 trillion budget anyway.

Now that the White House is using the same approach for health care reform, some wonder what Obama expected to learn from the folks he met with Thursday that he didn't hear during two years of campaigning.

"For the most part, these kinds of things are dog-and-pony shows that are hard to associate with any concrete, substantive results," said Michael Franc, a health care expert with the conservative Heritage Foundation.

"With 99.6 percent certainty, they're going to walk out of this summit wanting to do the same thing."

Obama already has a health care plan, which he unveiled during the campaign, though it's lacking the details needed for the kind of comprehensive legislation he is advocating.

He said Thursday that the purpose of the summit was to collect ideas for those details and to seek out proposals that he hadn't thought of before.

"We had an extraordinarily productive set of sessions throughout the day," Obama said, adding he senses a clear consensus about the need "here and now" for health care reform.

"I just want to figure out what works," he said.

Obama said his staff will generate a document summarizing the key points of what came out of Thursday's breakout sessions.

Jeremy Mayer, public policy professor at George Mason University, said the president may be willing to compromise significantly on his proposed plan in the long run. But he said the health care summit was probably not going to yield any eureka moments.

"It's very unlikely that someone's going to walk into these with a new idea that no one's heard before ... the terms of the debate are pretty well-known," he said.

Rather, Mayer said, Obama is trying to set the tone that he is open to ideas and reach out to moderates and other key lawmakers in Congress he'll need to pass comprehensive reform -- lessons learned from the Clinton administration's failed attempt at health care reform.

Indeed, Obama reached out to a key Republican leader right after the session ended, calling on Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell for his thoughts at the top of the question-and-answer period.

Obama made clear Thursday that health care reform is at the top of his agenda, claiming the economic crisis is inextricably linked to health care. "This is a legacy moment for Obama, and the stakes are very high," Mayer said.

Franc also said the summits can be used effectively to build support and send the message that the administration is committed to solving the problem. But he said the nuances of the legislation will be worked out between staffers at the White House and Capitol Hill, not in the executive summary from the summit.

So what's the next topic Obama might focus group?

Windows 7 is a worldwide operating system and Microsoft made a really good move by adding regional wallpapers into the operating system. When you choose your region settings, the appropriate theme is displayed. In this guide, you’ll learn how to activate hidden regional settings in Windows 7.

Note: These guides are written for the public beta of Windows Seven Ultimate (build 7000.) As further builds are released, these guides may be subject to change and will be updated accordingly. If the methods described below do not work, please don’t hesitate to ask our experts in the forums.

Activating Hidden Regional Themes

To activate regional themes, do the following:

  1. Open Computer, click Organize, and select Folder and Search Options
    Activate Hidden Regional Themes in Windows 7 - 1
  2. Under the View tab, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and uncheck Hide Protected operating system files
    Activate Hidden Regional Themes in Windows 7 - 2
  3. When prompted, select Yes. Click OK on Folder Options
    Activate Hidden Regional Themes in Windows 7 - 3
  4. Navigate to %systemroot%\Globalization\MCT\
    Activate Hidden Regional Themes in Windows 7 - 4
  5. Select a region by opening its folder and double click on the theme file to activate the themes

You can now use Windows 7’s “hidden” themes.

At 8:15am a massive explosion occurred in the 200 block of East Main Street.

Downtown has be evacuated between Black and Church Avenues east to west and between Babcock and Mendenhall north to south.

Current Secured Perimeter is Church to Tracy (east-west) and Lamme to Babcock (north-south).

A law enforcement checkpoint is being established at BFD Station #1 on Rouse beginning at 7:00pm

Business and Property owners must register at this checkpoint and then they will be escorted to the property and escorted back through the check point.

PROPERTY AND BUSINESS OWNERS BETWEEN ROUSE AND BOZEMAN SHOULD PLEASE WAIT UNTIL LATER TONIGHT OR EVEN TOMORROW TO COME TO BFD STATION #1 FOR PROPERTY ACCESS. LAW ENFORCEMENT WOULD LIKE TO PROVIDE ACCESS TO THE AREAS OUTSIDE OF ROUSE TO BOZEMAN FIRST, THUS WORKING INWARD TOWARDS THE IMMEDIATE BLOCK.

The area between Rouse and Bozeman (east-west) and Babcock to Mendenhall will remain completely closed due to the continuing emergency services.

Access to parts of this block may be possible tomorrow.

Buildings west of Bozeman Avenue may open as early as this evening or by tomorrow morning at the latest.

Northwestern Energy is working to restore power to as many areas as possible. For several days gas service will be interrupted between Black and Rouse (east-west) and the north side of Main to Mendenhall (north-south).

Electrical power may be restored to the entire area as soon as this evening.

The City and Northwestern Energy are working on solutions for buildings that do not have heat as far as the oncoming subzero temperatures and trying to prevent pipes from freezing and bursting.

City water service from Rouse to Bozeman on the north side of Main Street has been shut off from the water main line into every building except in the Rockin' R Bar.

The City Building department is and will continue to inspect buildings in the immediate area to declare properties are safe to reoccupy.

The Gallatin County Health Department is concerned about food safety issues related to the fire and smoke that may have impacted restaurants in the immediate area. Once restaurants are cleared for owner occupation, the Health Department will be available to complete food safety inspections beginning Friday morning. Restaurant owners should call the Health Department to arrange an inspection.

The intense water usage downtown will result in discoloration (brown to rusty color). This is due to sediment in the water system being disturbed by the high flows being used in the fire fighting efforts. There may also have an increased smell of chlorine since the City has increased the concentration to compensate for the high usage. ALL WATER IS COMPLETELY SAFE TO DRINK, COOK WITH, AND BATH WITH.

Hawthorne Elementary School will open and operating tomorrow (Friday) for normal class schedule.

It's doesn't matter if you use Windows Mobile technology or Symbian or even the newly improved Google Android Operating System..! It will become more and more reliable and cheap mobile technology in the future. It's not just Nokia Sony ericcson, LG , HTC, Samsung Mobile or any other vendor, the technology is there to everyone choose. Most important that the consumer will get the most benefit from it all. In this year the world is hit by the Global Financial Crisis that effected almost every private sector there is.

The LG-Microsoft alliance was highlighted by LG Mobile's chief executive, Dr. Skott Ahn, using LG's watch-phone to conduct a live video call with Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer. The two companies have committed to release at least 10 LG Windows phones in 2009 and as many as 26 in 2012.

LG made a major commitment to producing Windows Phones on Monday, unveiling a new, 3D interface for its high-end phones at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2009) show in Barcelona.

The first phone coming from the alliance is the GM730, a touch-screen phone that will feature Windows Mobile 6.1 at launch and Windows Mobile 6.5 later this year. The GM730 runs LG's new 3D, "S-Class" user interface, which uses lots of big, tactile graphics to make complex phones more fun and easy to use.

"Users don't need to dig to manage to find information or to utilize features ... S-Class will ... become standard on all of our handsets, and this includes smartphones," said Chang Ma, LG Mobile's vice president for marketing strategy.

For instance, to tune the FM radio on an S-Class phone, you turn a virtual dial with your finger. To set the clock, you move the hands with your finger. And to scroll through a menu, you flick a line of icons.

S-Class seems to reach into all areas of the GM730. On the demo unit we saw, the calendar and address book were both customized to look a lot more fun than the standard Windows Mobile applications.

LG isn't the only company seriously hacking Windows Mobile; HTC announced earlier today that the company is bringing new address-book and call-organization technology to their own Windows Mobile phones.

The GM730 has a 3-inch, 240x400 screen, a 5-megapixel camera with a Schneider-Kreuznach lens, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a GPS-enabled SMS application from Gypsii.

S-Class will also appear on LG's Arena KM900, a multimedia feature phone that LG introduced today. The Arena has an 800x480 touch screen, a 5-megapixel camera, GPS, 8 GB of memory, DVD-resolution video capture and both Wi-Fi and 3G.

Many UI innovations introduced at MWC never come to the US. LG, for example, overwrites its own UI with Verizon's custom UI on all their Verizon Wireless phones. But S-Class will absolutely come to North America, Ahn said.

"Our number-one option is the carrier's preference. But regardless of the preference of the carriers, we also have a plan to launch [S-Class] in the US very soon," Ahn said.

LG on Monday also introduced an innovative, translucent phone, the GD900. Executives didn't reveal much about this slider other than that it's silvery, transparent and glows.

Along with Samsung and ,, LG is another member of Google's Open Handset Alliance that declined to release an Android phone at this show. Android phones are coming, LG insisted. Just not now. SO, it's all depend on you to wisely choose and pick the most suitable worthy for you...

Former Chicago Bulls guard Norm Van Lier, who died today in his Chicago apartment, made fans of many early Bulls watchers.
His cause of death is still unknown, but it is thought that he fell ill due to his recent struggles with advanced heart disease. He was 61 years old.

"Norm Van Lier was one of the all-time greats ever to put on a Chicago Bulls uniform," Bulls Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf said in a statement. "Along with Jerry Sloan, he set a standard for Bulls defense and toughness which we will never forget and which we will always strive to replicate. We will miss him greatly, and extend our deepest sympathies to his family and his many friends."

Stormin’ Norman career’s was marked by underappreciation and silent endurance. He attended Saint Francis University after most high-major colleges balked on recruiting the 6-1 point guard. His grizzled, physical play won him respect among fans and his teammates.

Van Lier appeared in three All-Star games (1974, 1976, 1977). He retired in January 1979 with career totals of 8,770 points and 5,217 assists.

Microsoft is preparing to it's brand new product. Following the launch of Windows Vista, Microsoft made available for download an update to Windows Media Center, namely Windows Media Center TV Pack 2008, formerly codenamed Fiji. And just in case users will want a preview of Windows Media Center in Windows 7 ahead of actually getting their media “dirty,” Microsoft has made available a video of the new features available in the next iteration of Windows. In the video embedded at the bottom of this article you will be able to see Windows Media Center Program Manager Noah Spitzer-Williams presenting Windows 7's Windows Media Center.

Although initial reports indicated that Fiji was a major update for Windows Media Center, Windows Media Center TV Pack 2008 ended up being nothing more than an OEM-exclusive release, designed to work in conjunction with hardware products, while delivering little additional functionality for Windows Media Center. Windows Media Center TV Pack 2008 was leaked to torrent sites ahead of its official availability, but fact is that in order to fully taste evolution in Vista's Windows Media Center end users will have to upgrade to Windows 7.

Windows Media Center in Windows 7 brings to the table the following new features:

- Changes to the way videos are displayed in Video Library to include Thumbnails AND Names for each video.
- Support for H.264 Video - no 3rd party codecs are required to play H.264 content.
- Video Play-All Option (think of it as a “Video Slide Show”) with ability to navigate between each video.
- Developers can take advantage of the new Import API for Windows Portable Devices. The new API enables photos AND videos from portable devices to be imported directly within Windows Media Center.
- Ability to create Slide Shows (new Slide Show pivot) with your pictures and can contain pictures or music or both.
- New On-screen Keyboard (Touch-enabled).
- Improved Rating Controls within Windows Media Center UI.
- New Ratings Pivot for quick access to your favorite content.
- Play Favorites feature with new Slide Show style.
- Auto Slide Show feature acts as a screensaver for Windows Media Center."

Drawless Night for the Champions!
Last night game between these two teams is worth to read. As for the review of the game is pretty much become recommended to read stuff. It was one of those riveting 0-0 games with both teams enjoying their moments, both team playing excellent football. Ronaldo was key tormentor getting shots, headers and freekicks in to Cesar all through the first half.

But the best chance came to Giggs who turned Rivaz the centreback effortlessly and ran in behind on goal but couldn't beat the goal-keeper - Cesar.
That they went in with nothing to show for it was surprising and in part a credit to the work of Cesar in the Inter goal.
Ronaldo had a great header in the opening minutes which was close enough to Cesar for him to make a reflex save. Berbatov also got behind the defence but couldn't find the advancing Park in time. Berbatov already had a couple of chances of his own by then as United started peppering the Inter goal.
The hard work of Park to close down the Inter midfield - and the only defensive gesture Ferguson made in United's decision is to leave Rooney on the bench was probably the clearest sign that Ferguson was seeking midfield dominance.

The strategy seemed to be to punt the ball up to Adriano and Zlatan for Inter, and hope for the best. Johnny Evans and O Shea both making the starting line up, United's defence were rarely troubled.Carrick and Fletcher were dominating the midfield and controlling play.
It was by all accounts the best United have ever played in an away leg. Earlier visits to this very stadium have seen them awed and cowed by AC Milan's ageing superstars. But tonight they were confident, in control and calm through out. But so far, he's been right, the tie is not decided yet. It all hangs in balance.

Mourinho said that this tie would go into extra time in the second leg. That can only happen with a 0-0 after full time at Old Trafford. The second leg is leaving us waiting expectantly for more of the same worth to see game!. Don't miss this....

This is what some said one of the discovery of the century!. Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute Scientists finally announced their version of the nearly 50-year unsolved mystery behind The "barreleye" fish or some may call it "clear-headed".

That's right, the "barreleye" fish gives a new meaning to "clear-headed" -- members of the central California species Macropinna microstoma have fully transparent skulls filled with a jelly-like fluid that scientists discovered this week allows the fish 360-degree vision.

The "barreleye" fish, transparent skulls, explaining that the neon green, bulbous eyes inside their see-through heads can fully rotate - dispelling previous claims that their eyes were stuck in what most of scientist reffer to "tunnel vision."
As for the eyes of the barreleye fish are extremely light-sensitive, so the fish tend to swim close to the depths of the ocean - making it hard to study the species, researchersand the scientist said.

Finally, they carefully brought one fish ashore and determined they had been wrong for nearly half a century about the fish's sight capabilities using their newly developed vehicles designed for deep-sea research allowed the scientists access to the bottom-dwellers.

If you have never done it before, mediation might seem a little tricky to you, especially when clubbed with paranoia whether it will work for you or not. But that only means you are normal. Whenever we are going to do something new, we are characteristically a little apprehensive. Its’ only when we begin to see how beneficial it is, then we actually start appreciating it. So, stop worrying and take the leap. If it doesn’t work, you can always drop it. But don’t dismiss it without having given it a shot.

So, first things first, what exactly is meditation? It is a practice of relaxing your mind, body and the spirit, voluntarily and consciously. Once you start doing it on a regular basis meditation can help you in many ways - it can improve your health, it can help you reach unprecedented levels of relaxation, it can improve your focus and concentration. It can also boost your performance at work by relaxing and rejuvenating your body and mind.

Even modern day medicine is slowly waking up to the advantages of meditation and a lot of people are advised to meditate by their physicians.

There are some myths and false ideas around the idea of meditation which need to be dispelled.

1. You don’t need to be in a special place to mediate. All you need is a quiet, comfortable place.

2. You can sit in any position that you find comfortable. You can even be lying down if that is what you want. Anything that relaxes you. But whatever you do keep your back straight and don’t fall asleep.

3. You don’t need a special time to mediate. Early in the morning when you are fully awake and before you start your daily routines and just before you go to sleep, after you have done your cores for the night are two best times though.

4. When you have achieved the position you want to meditate in, focus on your breathing. Slowly inhale and exhale. Relax your arms and keep your palms on your thighs. Focus your attention on the energy of your palms. Try to relax your eyes. You can keep them open or closed, whatever is more resting for you.

5. There is no ideal time period for meditation. You can start with as little as ten minutes and increase the duration, as and when you want to. People can mediate for hours at a stretch.

6. You have to make a habit out of meditation if you are seeking its benefits. Try to mediate at the same time everyday. How long you meditate is hardly important as long as you do it everyday.

In today’s world, where people have to deal with stress, work-related and otherwise on a daily basis, more and more people are switching to meditation to calm themselves and deal with various pressures of urban, daily life. It’s worth a try, if you have not tried it yet. It might change your life forever, and for the better!.

Many bloggers have had some experiences on Adsense smart-pricing that affect the type of niche they choose and how they blog. Some of these experiences weren't highlighted by Google's guides. In essence, bloggers need to be aware of smart pricing and careful when first finding a niche to blog about if they want to gain the most from Adsense. I have compiled the most important 'facts' about Adsense smart-pricing based on these experiences around the blogosphere:

Reduced earning - Smart price means that the earning per click is reduced if your blog is being smart-priced. For example, you might earn $0.05 per click on an ad that could actually bring you $0.50 if you're not smart-priced. It also means that the advertisers pay less per click on ads these ads than the actual bidding price.

Affects entire account - Smart-pricing affects the entire Adsense account. If you have multiple blogs and only one of them is actually being smart-priced because it brings in low conversion rate to advertisers, then all the other blogs under the same Adsense account will be affected also eventhough these other ones converts well.

• Won't know if you're being smart priced - You won't know which sites are being smart-priced and which are not, and you don't have any data to make any correct guess. What you can do to know whether your blog is being smart priced is by observing its performance or make educated guesses based on your earning per click or CTR.

Smart-pricing can be reversed - If your account is affected, remove Adsense ads from sites that you think are actually being smart-priced to avoid being smart-priced on sites that convert well.

Updated on weekly basis - Smart pricing is evaluated on a weekly basis. Changes are likely to occur the week after you've made any changes that affect smart-pricing.

Setup additional account - Some bloggers have set up additional Adsense account to serve different sites so that well-converting sites are not affected by smart pricing. But this requires approval from Google and actually difficult to get. Publishers need to provide additional company details or have different names for different accounts.

Image Gallery in WordPress

All the versions of WordPress 2.5+ have inbuilt Image Gallery function where you can upload your images in a set and then insert the gallery either into your post or a new page.

But almost all the old themes(before 2.5) and many new ones do not have the integrated functionality. In order to add this feature, here is what you have to do :

In your existing theme, open single.php and save it as image.php in your theme folder. Now open this image.php file in an editor and find the line that displays the post content. It should be somewhat in the following form.
It can differ a bit but the function is called by the_content like this :-

<?php the_content('Read More'); ?>
Now insert the following code above the aforementioned code (the_content) :-
<p class="attachment">
<a href="<?php echo wp_get_attachment_url($post->ID); ?>"><?php echo wp_get_attachment_image( $post->ID, 'medium' ); ?></a>
</p>
<div class="caption">
<?php if ( !empty($post->post_excerpt) ) the_excerpt(); // this is the "caption" ?>
</div>
Insert the following code below the aforementioned code (the_content) :-
<div class="imgnav">
<div class="imgleft"><?php previous_image_link() ?></div>
<div class="imgright"><?php next_image_link() ?></div>
</div>
<br clear="all" />

Now, add this CSS to your theme’s style.css file :-
/****************Image Gallery *********************/

.gallery {text-align:center;}
.gallery img {padding:2px; height:100px; width:100px;}
.gallery a:hover {background-color:#ffffff;}
.attachment {text-align:center;}
.attachment img { padding:2px; border:1px solid #999999;}
.attachment a:hover {background-color:#FFFFFF;}
.imgnav {text-align:center;}
.imgleft {float:left;}
.imgleft a:hover {background-color:#FFFFFF;}
.imgleft img{ padding:2px; border:1px solid #999999; height:100px; width:100px;}
.imgright {float:right;}
.imgright a:hover {background-color:#FFFFFF;}
.imgright img{ padding:2px; border:1px solid #999999; height:100px; width:100px;}

The above CSS code fixes the default gallery of WordPress which doesn’t look so good. So, now when you go and upload your images in a post or a page, go to the gallery option (after you have finished uploading all your images) and insert gallery into your post/page. That’s it don't miss this ...
